This stunning kitchen remodel was in an old Brownstone home in the Summit Hill neighborhood of St. Paul. The homeowner made caramels for a hobby (which were absolutely fabulous), so she needed a kitchen that functioned efficiently for making large quantities of these treats. That is the reason for the pot filler faucet above the cooktop. The existing layout with the peninsula did not work, as the seating area was very confined and cold. The main entrance from the back alley is directly into the kitchen, so the need for functional shoe & coat storage and drop zone organization was crucial. The laundry machines were in a closet in the kitchen, which were relocated into the basement. This closet was repurposed into a dry bar-butler pantry between the formal dining room & kitchen.
