Kitchen Remodel | Big Carnelian Lake | Stillwater, MN
Keeping true to the original modern architecture
Occasionally, we are lucky enough to work in truly unique and one of a kind houses. This home, located on a bluff overlooking Big Carnelian Lake in north Stillwater, is one of those unique homes. The objective of this kitchen project was to update the space while keeping true to the original, modern architecture of the home itself. We accomplished this with natural, quality finishes.

We refinished the hardwood flooring, added red birch cabinetry with walnut accents, and Drystack slate backsplash and wall tile. Every kitchen has a key focal design point that typically ties the space into overall feel of the house. In this case, we were inspired by the modern architectural lines throughout the house to create a floating glass table top on the peninsula with stainless steel stand-offs. The peninsula countertop is a different granite from the perimeter countertops to add to that focal point.
