Kitchen Remodel | Historic Blair Arcade | St. Paul, MN

working within historical parameters, making it new

Built in 1887, the Blair Arcade Building is a historic residential building in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood of Saint Paul. Eclectic homeowners in an eclectic neighborhood presented some unique design challenges and yielded truly spectacular results.

This galley style kitchen was cut off from the dining room/living room which serves as a large entertaining space for a pair of homeowners who love sharing treasures from all of their world travels.

The new peninsula allowed for conversation to flow from the kitchen to the antique bar in the living room. The crown jewel of this project is the cabinetry: glass paneled doors allow the couple to show off some of their favorite finds from around the world. The feature piece is the upper cabinet above the peninsula, complete with in cabinet lighting.

The distinct design choices made by the homeowners along with Suzanne’s guidance and Tim’s high standard for quality made this project one of our favorites; this kitchen is worthy of its historic location!

Material specifics for this project include painted custom cabinetry, mineral black soapstone countertops, and refinished oak hardwood flooring.
